ABAI staff is always thinking of ways to better communicate to keep candidates and diplomates informed about the Certification and MOC process. Find us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Meet your MOC Team...

From program requirement questions to uploading CMEs, to giving module and deadline information, ABAI Diplomates have a resource for "all things MOC" at ABAI’s office in Rayné Harrison and Anthony Brewer. The pair have worked together since Harrison's arrival at ABAI in January 2011, and bring over 30 years of combined customer service experience to their work in administering the ABAI MOC program.

Harrison, Manager of MOC, had a 16-year career at American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), where she worked in a variety of roles in ABIM Recertification and MOC, and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs. She possesses a thorough knowledge of MOC processes which has had immediate positive impact on ABAI when fielding daily program inquiries, researching potential MOC products, and having input at various ABMS and society meetings throughout the year. Harrison also serves as a reviewer for the Multi-Specialty Portfolio program, ensures that diplomates receive MOC credit for products approved for MOC, and reviews and implements new policy language for the ABAI Web Portal and Website.

Brewer, MOC Coordinator, joined the ABAI in 2006 after a decade of customer service, sales and management in the telecommunications industry. Brewer provides a highly-nuanced knowledge of MOC when it comes to ensuring that all credentialing requirements are met, giving diplomates test site information, and keeping all credentialing items organized and up-to-date in the Web Portal. His responsibilities also include Certification candidate assistance as needed, meeting planning and coordination, and overall support of office staff.

Brewer and Harrison's roles overlap on many matters of MOC which include fielding diplomate queries regarding policies, rules, registration, program requirements, CMEs, licensure, deadlines, and helping diplomates understand their individual progress along the 10-year MOC timeline. The 'MOC team' also maintains direct involvement with ABAI diplomates "on the road" at AAAAI, ACAAI and various other society meetings, where they offer in-person assistance and program information.

"We're always moving forward to improve the MOC process as a whole and always striving to refine procedures and modules to assure a more efficient, user-friendly process," Brewer said.

Please stop by the booth at your next society meeting and say hello to Anthony and Rayné — your MOC team.
