Thank You for a Job Well Done

9/13/2021

It is my distinct pleasure on behalf of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology Board of Directors and Staff, to extend our greatest appreciation for the pioneering work of the novel Test Writing Committee for the Continuous Assessment Program (CAP):

  • Prescott Atkinson, MD, PhD
  • Stuart Abramson, MD, PhD
  • Mark Corbett, MD
  • Mary Beth Fasano, MD
  • John James, MD
  • John Oppenheimer, MD
  • Stokes Peebles, MD
  • Scott Sicherer, MD

This Committee marks a notable leap forward for ABAI. For the first time, ABAI assessments and items were developed by diplomates in clinical practice who were not sitting members of the Board of Directors. The success of this committee relied continuously on the ingenuity and leadership of its members. They certainly exceeded all expectations during their selfless term of service beginning in 2019.

Their expert contributions to article curation and assessments have assisted diplomates in keeping up on state of the art advancements. They have promoted learning to the benefit of patients nationwide. Their focus on making the program relevant and timely has put ABAI at the forefront of revolutionizing its continuing certification program.

I would also like to congratulate Dr. Jay Lieberman and Dr. Dana Wallace for their service on the committee since joining the Board this past year.

The ABAI Board and diplomates will remain indebted to its founding members who have set the bar high for those that follow. We congratulate them and wish them the very best for a job well done.

Sincerely,

Michael R. Nelson, MD, PhD
President, ABAI
