ABAI Welcomes Dr. Demain to the Board

Dr. Demain began his medical career as a medic in the U.S. Air Force, then a Physician Assistant before completing medical school at Texas Tech University, residency at Wright State University and fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
He is a Clinical Professor at the University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, and an Affiliate Professor at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Dr. Demain founded the Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Center of Alaska, the Allergy Asthma & Immunology Society of Alaska, and a founding member Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, Alaska Chapter.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, American Board of Allergy Immunology (ABAI), He serves on the Board of Regents of the American College of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI). DR Demain is co-editor of the AAAAI “Ask the Expert” and a contributor to Up to Date. Committed to education, he served 10 years on the AAAAI Annual Meeting Planning Committee and now serves on the ACAAI Annual Meeting Programming Committee. Dr. Demain has over 50 peer-reviewed publications, three textbook chapters, and his work has been cited over 2,000 times. He continues to research and publish in both insect allergy and the impacts of climate change on respiratory health. He was honored with the AAAAI-RSL Leadership award in 2020 and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Special Achievement Award in 2021.
